Life Update:

Our bags are packed and we're moving to Santa Cruz California!

In 2015, we moved from NYC to ATX for a one-year experiment to see how we liked it. That experiment quickly turned into 9 wonderful years in Central Texas.

Growing up on an island in the Pacific Northwest, I never thought I would live in Texas. But Austin welcomed us with open arms and in the blink of an eye, we had roots.

My wife and I got married, we made friends, we built a house (then another), and two years ago our family grew from two to three.

9 years passes in a blink

Moving to Austin in my late 20s was one of the best choices of my life. I love this city. We've met our best friends here, made some of the best memories of our lives, and have been forever changed by our time in Texas.

It's painful to leave the community we've built. I'm scared we're going to be lonely. I'm afraid our relationships with our friends will change with distance.

But when you've got a feeling, you've got to go for it.

My gut is telling me that moving closer to our family is the right choice. When that feeling is present, it's futile to fight it.

I am not sure how we’ll feel when we finally get settled on the West Coast, but I'm excited to find out.

Onward,

Austin

21st Century Alchemy: Turning Energy into Gold

In this episode, Cody and I discuss why many leading governments are not telling the truth about their involvement with Bitcoin.

Nation states including Argentina, Ethiopia, El Salvador, Mexico, and Australia quietly use their excess energy to mine and accumulate Bitcoin, even if some are publicly against it.

We discuss what’s happening in these countries, why it matters to you, and a few ways to gain exposure to Bitcoin and the miners.

The Lifestyle:

🌎 Global Adventure:

I’m getting more and more excited about visiting Sri Lanka. Take a look at this post about Weligama. It looks like a beautiful spot and is reminiscent of when I first visited Bali in 2010. (link)

Who wants to book a flight?

We did a deep dive into the world’s fastest-growing economy. You'll learn what it's like on the ground, why the Guyanese government is ready to write checks for skilled professionals, and the emerging opportunities beyond oil (link)

China now effectively “owns” the nation of Laos. This is a breakdown of how massive loans from Beijing for their ‘Belt and Road Initiative’ have plunged Laos into a painful debt crisis (link)

💰Wealth, Business, and Life:

My buddy Nat Eliason just launched his book Crypto Confidential. He gave me a copy a few weeks ago and I ripped through it in a couple of late nights. First off, it’s a great story. He literally made (and lost) millions of dollars in the last bull run. And it’s written in a way where you learn a lot about investing in Crypto. It launched today on Amazon so go pick it up! (link)

An excellent breakdown of a tremendous direct-response funnel doing 1.5M+ site visitors a month (link)

🚁 The Best of the Best:

The first trailer for ‘Gladiator 2’ is out and it looks great. The original ‘Gladiator’ was one of my favorite movies. Denzel Washington’s new character looks like he will be iconic (link)

The riots in Kenya are giving us some of the hardest images of the year.
